Re-Shaping the Ears



In most cases the ears go unnoticed unless they have some sort of defect or stand out of the side of the head. When the ears stand out from the head it becomes a problem, in most cases cosmetic surgery is required, this type of surgery is called Otoplasty it is a common procedure using a local anaesthetic on adults and a general anaesthetic on younger children.This type of operation consists of the cartilage that is positioned behind the ear being re modifyed and re positioned. Ear re shaping has been preformed under the National Health Service and on private insurance. In common terms for this type of procedure is pinning back the ears to bring them back in harmoney with the facial features.
