The eye is an organ that produces sight, is it situated in its own protective socket inside a bony structure of the skull. The eye has a small opening which is called the iris, the pupil allows the light to show through, which hits a lens that's in the centre called a retina, the retina forms images which are made up into electrical pulses and sent to the brain, all the functions working together forms the vi son which enables us to see.
